History

Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home is an independent, family owned and operated funeral home located on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Our facilities are situated in a stately Victorian Mansion that was built in 1876, and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Founded in 1956 by Wendell T. Magoun, our firm has taken great pride in providing personal service to the community in all aspects of care giving. Wendell's son Robert W. Magoun continued this legacy of family service for over thirty-five years.

Currently the firm is owned and operated by Robert J. Biggins and his son Daniel J. Biggins, they and a dedicated staff of caregivers are committed to provide ethical and tender service to the community. They continue the legacy and bring a vision for the future to expand and improve the available resources of care and compassion. Together they strive to assist each and every family that they serve to "Celebrate the Dignity of Life".

We are proud members of the National Funeral Director's Association and as a record of our outstanding service, ethical practices and comfortable facilities, our's is the only firm in our community to be recognized with the prestigious "Pursuit of Excellence" award.

As an NFDA member, we are pledged to strict adherence to the high standards to which members are dedicated. Our responsibilities to each family we serve will be in keeping with NFDA's nationally known Code of Professional Conduct.
